First call for papers - Zagreb, June 2009

Dear colleagues,
We are glad to inform you that the XVIIth ROMEC will take place from 24-27 May 2010, at the Mimara Museum, Roosevelt Square 5, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia.

The main topic of the XVIIth ROMEC will be:

Weapons and Military Equipment in a Funerary Context

The conference will begin on Monday, the 24th of May 2010 at 9 a.m., and will end in the evening of Thursday, the 28th of May 2010. A day excursion to the legionary fortresses Tilurium and Burnum in the Croatian part of the province Dalmatia is scheduled for the 26th of May.

We are also pleased to inform you that the conference will be accompanied by an exhibition „Roman Military Equipment in Croatia“, organised in the Archaeological Museum of Zagreb especially for the occasion of the conference.

The conference fee of 120,00 EUR includes the conference materials, the excursion to Dalmatia, a visit to the mentioned exhibition and the exhibition catalogue.

The official languages of the conference will be Croatian, English, German, Italian and French.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts, for both papers and posters, is the December 1st 2009. All abstracts will be published as a separate booklet and included in the conference materials. The length of each abstract should be limited to 1000 signs, whereas the duration of presented papers is set to 15 minutes, with additional 5 minutes for the discussion. The decision on the acceptance of papers will be made by the Conference Organising Committee.
